Dr Akash Sharma is a Consultant Orthopaedic Knee Surgeon at the internationally renowned Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, UK.
He specialises exclusively in robotic knee surgery, utilising advanced alignment strategies and operating across four major global robotic platforms.

Having performed over 1,200 robotically assisted knee replacements, Dr Sharma stands among Europe’s highest-volume robotic knee surgeons, bringing deep cross-platform expertise to modern arthroplasty.

He incorporates next-generation digital motion-tracking and patient-engagement technology to translate real-time functional data into both operative planning and recovery pathways, driving a more tailored and responsive approach to knee reconstruction.

Dr Sharma is the current President of CAOS (UK), where he leads national efforts in advancing computer-assisted, navigated, and robotic orthopaedic surgery.
