Mr Kash Akhtar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic London, specialising in knee injuries and treatments. His clinical expertise includes sports knee injuries, meniscal preservation and transplantation, cartilage repair, knee ligament reconstruction, and complex realignment surgery. He is passionate about helping active individuals—from recreational athletes to professionals—return to peak performance using the latest evidence-based techniques.

Kash trained at Imperial College London, graduating with Distinction in Surgery, and completed a prestigious knee surgery fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford. He was awarded the Winston Churchill Fellowship to study advanced orthopaedic techniques in leading U.S. centres and has delivered over 100 international presentations, earning multiple awards for clinical and educational excellence.

He previously spent over a decade as a Consultant at Barts Health NHS Trust, one of the UK’s busiest centres, where he managed complex tertiary knee referrals. A dedicated educator, he holds two postgraduate degrees and a fellowship in medical education and is an Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery & Surgical Education at Barts and the London Medical School, QMUL, as well as an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne.

Kash is also Lead for Digital Health Education and Innovation at Cleveland Clinic London and founder of orthohub, a global platform for orthopaedic education. He hosts the award-winning “orthohub see one / do one” podcast and the “Exploring Health with Cleveland Clinic London” podcast, bringing expert insights to healthcare professionals and the public alike.
