Dr. Timothy Alton is a dual-fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon dedicated to providing the highest level of orthopedic care to his patients. He specializes in minimally invasive, muscle sparing techniques for hip and knee replacement surgeries and uses innovative, state of the art technologies to optimize patient outcomes. Dr. Alton specializes in robotic partial and total knee replacements and anterior approach total hip replacements. He uses a muscle sparing sub-vastus approach for robotic total knee replacements and minimally invasive anterior total hip replacements leveraging advanced navigation technology to improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Dr. Alton is recognized as an innovative leader in minimally invasive joint replacement surgery locally, nationally and internationally. Dr. Alton has published in national and international journals, written book chapters, and presented his research at domestic and international meetings. He also teaches hip and knee replacement techniques to other surgeons at national and international courses and commonly hosts visiting surgeons in his OR.

He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Seattle Met magazine for four consecutive years since 2020 and honored as a 2024 Castle Connolly Top Doctor by Seattle Magazine. Dr Alton is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and the Washington State Orthopedic Association. He is also a delegate on the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in addition to being the Director of the Joint Center at Valley Medical Center and the President of the Northwest Research Foundation.
